My favorite photos from 2015 + the year in review
First of all, if you want to go down the deep, dark hole that is my online presence, you can check out my favorite photos from 2014 here and my 2014 year in review + resolutions.
Second of all, wow. What an insane year this has been. I can't even believe the amount of growth I went through. 2015 was the year of adventure truly, but it was so much more than I expected it to be. It was not only one of physical adventure, with lots of traveling around, but a lot of internal adventure, exploring myself and what I believe.
But first things first, my favorite photographs from 2015.
Here's a selection of some of my favorite engagement and wedding photos, because it's impossible for me to narrow things down:
And here's some of my favorite other client + personal work:
- Turned 21!
- Went to Concept Collaboration.
- Dyed my hair pink.
- Photographed the GFU fashion show.
- Started dabbling with video.
- Bought a new camera lens.
- Got a new camera!
- Photographed a lookbook.
- Photographed cute bb sheepies.
- Won the Triple "S" Award!
- WENT TO NEW ZEALAND AND FIJI
- Photographed Prince Harry!
- Completed my Photo 3 final project.
- Photographed a bunch of beautiful engagements and weddings.
- Got to photograph the gorgeous Sandi Sisters.
- Traveled to Oklahoma and Georgia by myself.
- Experienced the most amazing Northern Lights ever in Alaska.
- Put together not one, but two elopement shoots!
- Finally met one of my photo friends and collaborated on a beautiful shoot together.
- Created a super cool Mad Max themed shoot.
- STARTED MY SENIOR YEAR OF COLLEGE.
- Dyed my hair purple.
- Went to Art Retreat!
- Fulfilled my dream of becoming a concert photographer.
- Finished my last fall semester of undergrad!
As I attempt to look forward to 2016, I honestly couldn't tell you what is in store. It will be a year of change and even more adventure, but who knows what direction I'll go. (It's not for lack of options, because there are too many things I want to pursue.) Even though things are a little hazy, here's a short list of resolutions I want to complete in 2016:
- Book fifteen weddings for 2016 (I photographed eight amazing weddings this year--including one I'm photographing tomorrow!).
- Travel internationally at least once (I've caught the bug).
- Read at least twelve books for fun, not for school.
- Be better about my finances + business marketing/managing/social media.
- Book an exhibition.
- Write a book (I have way too many loose pages right now).
- Minimize clutter + live more sustainably and ethically.
- Bring my camera.
- Publish my poetry.
I know there's some negative thoughts surrounding resolutions, but honestly I love them. Last year my resolutions were more abstract, which is what I needed, so this year I'm switching gears to work on more career + tangible personal things, rather than figuring out how to better my own psyche since I have a pretty good hold (or at least starting point) on it now.
For now, I'm off to pack for my favorite holiday doing my favorite thing in the world tomorrow. This last wedding of the year is going to be awesome!
